Chapters

One room, then the next one.

The Circle starts in San Diego. Expansion is deliberately slow, because the thing that has to travel is not the format — it is the standard.

Where the Circle sits

One live · six planned
Founding chapter

San Diego

Where the charter was written and the first table is being assembled. Everything is proved here before it is repeated anywhere.

Planned

Orange County

Forty minutes up the coast and a different business culture than it looks from outside. The easiest second room to hold to the same standard.

Planned

Los Angeles

Genuinely different gravity — entertainment, capital, and scale. Close enough that members can sit at both tables.

Planned

Scottsdale

Development and land, at a moment when the interesting projects are the patient ones.

Planned

Austin

A founder-heavy room that would need deliberate balancing to stay a cross-industry table.

Planned

Miami

Capital and appetite, and the hardest city in which to hold a curation standard.

Planned

New York

The room that would test whether the standard travels at all. Last, deliberately.

Not planned

Anywhere else

Every additional city halves the founders’ attention. These seven are the list; a city that is not on it is not a maybe.

San Diego is the only chapter in existence. Every other city on this page is a plan, shown to make the shape of the thing legible.

How a chapter opens

Not a franchise. A hand-off.

The failure mode of every members’ club that expands is the second city being run by someone who was never in the first room. So the sequence is fixed:

  1. 01

    A member asks

Chapters open because someone already at the table wants to build one where they live — never because a market looks attractive on paper.

  2. 02

They sit through a season first

Six dinners in the founding chapter before they host one of their own. The charter is learned by attending, not by reading.

  3. 03

    The first table is mixed

The opening dinner in a new city includes members who travel in. The standard arrives with people, or it does not arrive.

  4. 04

The archive is shared, the room is not

Every chapter reads the same archive and makes introductions across cities. Nobody attends another chapter’s dinner uninvited.

Four good rooms beat ten diluted ones.

San Diego first, and for as long as it takes to get right.
